Parity Talk ("Parity," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Parity mobile application and the website paritytalk.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information and personal data when you use our services. For the purposes of applicable data protection law (including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the UK Data Protection Act 2018, and the California Consumer Privacy Act), your data will be controlled by us.
We take our privacy obligations seriously. Please read this privacy policy carefully as it contains important information on who we are and how and why we collect, store, use, and share your personal data. It also explains your rights in relation to your personal data and how to contact us.

We collect sensitive information about you during the course of providing you access to the Parity app, specifically health-related information including neurological profiles and neurotypes. We will only collect this sensitive information where you consent to such collection by providing it directly through the app interface.
Your sensitive information will only be used for the purposes of providing you with our services, generating personalized translations, and improving the app experience. Your sensitive information will only be disclosed to Anthropic's Claude API for the purpose of generating translations and coaching responses, as described in Section 3.
When you use Translate or Talk mode, the text you enter, along with relevant profile and connection context, is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. We send the minimum context necessary to generate a good translation, including your neurotype, your connection's neurotype, learned patterns from previous conversations, and the specific text you want translated. We do not send your full conversation history with every request.
Anthropic processes this data to generate responses and, per their commercial API terms, does not use your data to train their models. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their handling of data sent through their API. For more information, visit anthropic.com/privacy.

Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. They receive anonymous device identifiers and purchase data. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Cloud backup data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Each user's backup is stored in an isolated folder accessible only with their authenticated credentials via row-level security policies. Sign in with Apple provides your identity token to our app for authentication. Apple's privacy policy governs their handling of authentication data.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes. We do not use your personal data for advertising or profiling.
Local storage: All of your data (profile, connections, conversations, learned patterns) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use cloud backup or initiate a translation/talk session.
Cloud backup: If you sign in with Apple and use the backup feature, your data is serialized as JSON and uploaded to Supabase Storage. Backups are encrypted in transit and at rest. Each user's data is isolated using row-level security policies. Cloud storage servers may be located outside your country of residence.
API calls: Data sent to the Claude API for processing is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). API calls are stateless — Anthropic does not retain your conversation data after generating a response, in accordance with their commercial API data retention policy.
Security measures: We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal data is secure and protected from misuse or unauthorized access. Our systems use encryption, access controls, and security best practices. However, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your personal data.
You have various rights with respect to our use of your personal data:
If you are providing personal and/or sensitive information on behalf of someone else (such as creating a connection profile), you warrant that you have the consent of that person to provide their information to be collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with this privacy policy.
If you are providing personal and/or sensitive information on behalf of someone under the age of 18 (a Minor), you must be that Minor's parent or legal guardian and you must provide consent for the Minor's information to be collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with this privacy policy.
Parity is designed for adults (18+) and parents of neurodivergent children. The app is not intended for unsupervised use by any person under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete that information.
When parents create connection profiles for their children, the information entered is stored locally on the parent's device and in their encrypted cloud backup, and is used solely to personalize translations for the parent.
Parity is operated from the United States. Your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other jurisdiction with data protection laws, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, which may include standard contractual clauses.
By using the app, you consent to the transfer of your data as described in this section.
We may from time to time send you administrative communications related to your account and the Service. We will not send you marketing communications unless you have explicitly opted in. You can opt out of any communications at any time by contacting us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Where we make significant changes, we will endeavor to notify you by email. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
